Presenter:  Dr Karl Tomm

Saturday 7th June 2008

At the Mothers' Union, Tufton Street, London SW1

£85.00

What will we focus on? How will we use the time?

Karl Tomm’s contribution to Systemic, Social Constructionist and Narrative Family Therapy continues to inspire and influence its development. The workshop provides a unique opportunity to experience the live consultation process with Karl at the KCC Foundation and reflect on the therapeutic processes, theoretical positions taken, questions and techniques developed.

What will I learn to do? What will I understand?

The workshop will explore how Karl works with clients, how consultations develop, what approaches and theories were used and explore the stories brought forth by the clients to the workshop.

How will I learn to understand and do better?

Participants will be invited to participate as a reflective team, engage with the process of consultation, and gain an understanding of the theoretical positions Karl uses as part of live consultations.

What will excite me?

Karl Tomm’s practice blends Systemic, Social Constructionist and Narrative practices, with therapeutic techniques he has developed including the use of interviewing the internalized other and bringforthism. Participants will be encouraged to consider the emergence of these theories and reflect on their own practice and future development in this practice based workshop.
