Who Are We KCC is a therapy, consultation, training and research centre. Our therapists are qualified and experienced professionals employed mostly in mental health, children and family services and who are at an advanced stage of training to become registered systemic psychotherapists. They are closely supervised by members of staff at the KCC Foundation. Our therapists come from many cultures, reflected in various classes, ethnicities, creeds and sexual orientations. What Happens On initial contact you will be given an appointment following which you will be telephoned by a KCC therapist for a discussion. The therapist discusses with you our ways of working and who it would be useful to meet during the process of therapy. Intervals between sessions may be two, three or four weeks and single sessions can be offered. Therapists and clients work together on the arrangements. S/he will have at least one other therapist working with her which s/he will introduce to you. The team may be in the room with you or in an adjoining room with a one-way mirror and a video link. From time to time the therapist and team will consult. This may be done in the room with you sharing their ideas or by the therapist going out to talk to the team. The therapist will ask for your permission to video tape the sessions and will discuss with you the reasons for doing this. If, after you hear the reasons, you do not wish to be video taped a tape will not be made.
