Who
the training is designed for... This is a two-year course designed for professionals qualified in systemic therapy who would like to develop their teaching, training, supervision and consultative skills. Academic sessions and workshops take place at KCCF itself; practical aspects of the training may be taken in KCCF or in the participant’s own setting. The course covers all aspects of systemic supervision, including teaching, training, management and maintenance of professional standards. It is designed to meet AFT requirements and to lead to the award of a Diploma by the completion of a dissertation in this area of practice. The course is validated by the University of Bedfordshire. Methods... Teaching year One year working as an Assistant Teacher/Supervisor, with a Staff Teacher/Supervisor. This year is spent teaching student professionals who are beginning the formal development of their study and practice of systemic/constructionist therapy and theory. Supervision year One year working as an Assistant Supervisor/Tutor with a Staff Supervisor/Tutor to develop professional students' skills of systemic therapy. This will be done through theoretical seminars, consultations, direct supervision and case discussion. Students may be offered teaching, training and supervisory practice within the KCC Systemic Therapy and Counselling Training Programme, supervised by a staff trainer. Alternatively, students may, by arrangement with the course leader, organise for themselves equivalent teaching, training and supervisory opportunities in their own agencies or other training programmes. Students will receive 'supervision of supervision' (SOS) by a Course Tutor. There are differential fee arrangements for these different pathways.Assessment... Written projects designed to help the trainee in the development of teaching and supervisory abilities and connections to theory Ongoing assessment of supervision and training work Submission of Portfolio Extended dissertation for the MA award. Structure... The Course runs for two years, with intakes in September or February. Students are required to attend the training programme of the course they are working on as a trainer. In addition there are 11 days each year of supervision training plus regular tutorials. Entry
Requirements... Students must have successfully completed a qualification in Systemic Practice, Systemic Therapy or equivalent and demonstrate their ongoing interest and involvement in this way of working. Selection will be by interview and references. Students who already have a Masters in Systemic Therapy, or Family Therapy may undertake the Diploma only. Course
Fees... The fee for the course is £3,500.00 per annum (£6,000.00 for the whole course). This fee covers tutorials, the academic programme and the examination event and other activities associated with the administration of the programme. For those undertaking the practice experience by working as an assistant supervisor/tutor at KCCF, part of the fee is paid for by this work and part by direct payment to KCCF of £3,000.00 for Year One and £3,000.00 for Year Two (£7,000.00 for the whole course). The fee payable varies according to whether the course is taken within the KCCF programme or an open/distance learning option. Each fee includes the cost of attending KCCF workshops. People who engage in the supervision and training course in the context of an open/distance learning and are not working directly on a KCCF course would pay a full course fee plus those travel expenses and other costs incurred in delivering aspects of the training e.g.supervision-of-supervision to the setting in which they are conducting the practice component of the course. As A Supervisor from the KCC Foundation... Students who successfully complete the training, are eligible to become a member of the KCCF Register of Systemic Supervisors through their membership of the KCCF Register of Systemic Practitioners. KCCF is a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. Many Graduates on this course have gone on to become Teachers and Supervisors on the KCCF programme. Application form...
