Welcoming Professor John Shotter to the KCC Foundation
Professor John Shotter has joined the KCC Foundation staff on a part time basis as a Principal Consultant from September 2003. John Shotter is a leader in the field of social constructionism. He has close connections with the therapy world as well as with the world of organisations. He brings with him an enormous treasure of knowledge and experience which will greatly enhance the training programmes in KCCF. He will be a central figure in the new Research Unit now being created in KCCF. He is able to provide supervision and consultation for people undertaking research whether for one of the KCCF masters programmes of for people who would like to undertake research as part of their professional practice or for organisations that would like some research to be undertaken in their situations. He is also being active in the development of the new Doctorate in Systemic Practice which KCCF is currently developing with the University of Luton. In addition, he will be available to supervise PhD research projects for those who would like to do this through KCCF with the unique dimension of social constructionism and systemic methods. For details of previous events, please follow these hyperlinks Academic Activity A new possibility for the professional development of systemic therapists who have experience of working over a number of years and would now value the opportunity to renew and learn further ideas which could enhance their reflective abilities leading to new and innovative practice. KCCF is delighted to offer a series of four modules of five three hour sessions each, in the evening, led by John Shotter. Each group of five sessions stands on its own in such a way that participants can chose which modules they would be interested in participating in. The modules will consist in learning ideas and ways of conceptualising our methods of doing therapy and developing therapeutic methods out of the learning given to us by philosophers and thinkers.
